The Fuel for the Journey program partially releases families, who are already expressing tremendous trauma from the added financial stress, of financing transportation while dealing with pediatric cancer. This program provides gas and meal gift cards to help childhood cancer families to cover transportation expenses to doctor appointments and helps prevent hunger. Often parents have to choose to pay for treatment vs paying for groceries. Must be in active treatment and live in the state of Virginia in order to receive assistance.
King David's Costume Drive is a unique and impactful initiative that aims to support critically ill children fighting cancer by providing them with new costumes. This initiative goes beyond just the physical act of giving costumes; it addresses various emotional, psychological, and social aspects of the children's lives, contributing to their overall well-being during a challenging time. Costumes are donated to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.
